Hi, welcome to my Recipe Home and Healthy Food Recipe World. This is Roni Sarker, and today we will make American Chop Suey. The dish is divided into three basic parts: noodles, gravy with vegetables and chicken, and a fried egg on top. Let’s get started!
I have an American friend who works with me on an online platform, and one day, he told me about his favorite dish that he and his family enjoy so much. I decided to try it in my kitchen and sent him a picture of the delicious result. He was proud to see the picture and complimented my cooking technique, even asking if I was American! I told him that I learned it from YouTube, especially from a Gordon Ramsay tutorial, and then added my own style to the recipe.

Equipment

  • 1 Frying Pan For frying the noodles and preparing the gravy.
  • 1 Deep Fryer or Deep Pan For deep-frying the noodles.
  • 1 Spatula For stirring the ingredients.
  • 1 Strainer For draining the fried noodles.
  • 1 Serving Plate For presenting the dish.

Ingredients
  

  • 200 g boiled noodles Oil for deep frying
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tbsp minced ginger
  • 1 sliced onion
  • 200 g boneless chicken Cut into small pieces
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/2 cup capsicum sliced
  • 1/4 cup chopped French beans
  • Hand-torn spinach leaves
  • Salt to taste
  • 1/4 tbsp white pepper powder
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 1 cup chicken stock
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch diluted in water
  • 1 egg

Instructions
 

  • Fry the Noodles:Heat oil for deep frying. Add boiled noodles to hot oil in a nest shape and fry until golden brown. Drain and set aside.
  • Prepare the Gravy:Heat oil in a frying pan. Add garlic, ginger, and sliced onion. Stir-fry until onions are translucent.
    Add chicken and cook on high heat until browned and crisp.
    Add cabbage, carrots, capsicum, French beans, and spinach. Stir-fry continuously.
    Season with salt, white pepper powder, and sugar. Add tomato ketchup and chicken stock. Bring to a boil.
    Thicken the gravy by adding diluted cornstarch.
  • Fry the Egg:Fry the egg in a separate pan and set aside.
  • Assemble the Dish:Place the fried noodle nest on a serving plate. Pour the gravy on top and place the fried egg on top. Serve hot.

Notes

Add any additional tips or variations. For example:
  • You can substitute chicken with tofu for a vegetarian version.
  • For a spicier flavor, add chili sauce to the gravy.
