Hilsa Fish in Coconut Curry

Hilsa is a very expensive and popular fish in our country. You won’t find any Bengali person who doesn’t want to eat Hilsa fish. There are 735 species of fish in Bangladesh.

But there is no clear explanation in government or non-government records or in history books as to why hilsa has been named the national fish.

Today I will share a delicious dish about Hilsa.

Ingredients that need to cook this recipes

  • 1 medium-sized Hilsa fish
  • 1 cup sour yogurt
  • 2 cups coconut milk
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin paste
  • 1 tablespoon onion paste
  • 1 tablespoon almond paste
  • 1 tablespoon raisin paste
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 4-5 slices of green pepper
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 cup roasted onion
  • Salt, to taste
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup oil

 

Final dish making :

At first, take the pan and set it up on the stove. Heat oil and fry the onion. When the onion is soft or fried well, then grind all the spices that are referred to in the list. Add the fish with sour curd, salt for a while, and coconut milk.

When the broth reduces, add sugar, green pepper, and put it in the oven for a while.
